Gertrude Florence (Allen) Barnhill
Sackville, N.B.- Gertrude Florence Barnhill, widow of Dr. Edward Barnhill, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Gertrude was the daughter of William M. and Mabel (Campbell) Allen of Bayfield, N.B.
Gertrude was a dear mother to Byron and Arnolda, Bruce and Sandra; a beloved grammy to Owen and Maggie, Jennifer and Adam, Kimberley and Chris, Philip, Stephanie, Lisa; a loving great-grandmother to Patrick, Christopher, Nicholas, Jessica, Kate and Emma-Grace.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Montague, Floyd, Darrell, Thorald, Edison and Hector.
Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Gertrude’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A graveside service for Gertrude’s family and friends will be held at the Sackville Cemetery on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 2 PM with Rev. Bob Campbell officiating. Following the burial, all are invited to join in a time of reception at Campbell’s Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gertrude may be made to the SPCA or to the charity of one’s choice.
