Alex Gaius Hicks

Midgic, N.B.- It is with sadness that the family of Alex Gaius Hicks announce his passing at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital on Wednesday, June 2, 2010. Alex was 63 years of age.
Born on July 9, 1946 in Middle Sackville, N.B., he was the son of the late Gaius and Rena (Hicks) Hicks.
Alex was employed with Moloney Electric until retirement and prior to that drove the oil truck with Irving. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, tinkering with old cars and lawnmowers. Alex loved being Santa for all of the family children, telling stories and making everyone laugh. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
Alex will be sadly missed by his wife Geraldine (Estabrooks) Hicks; two daughters, Lisa Green (Jean Green)of Scoudouc, NB and Jacklyn Hicks of Midgic, N.B.; three sisters, Lorena Lewis, Dora Snowdon and Flora (Elmer) Mitton; one brother, Donald (Lorraine) Hicks; step-grandson, Jesse LeBlanc, of Cap-Pele, NB and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Olive Patterson, Jean Stone (Oshawa, ON), Connie (infancy) and three brothers, Denver Hicks (Oshawa, ON), Thorald Hicks & Robert (infancy).
Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Cremation has taken place and the family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, June 4, 2010 from 6-8 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11 AM with Father Allison Carroll officiating. Burial will take place in the Midgic Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Alex may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association, Lung Association, Kidney Foundation or to the charity of ones choice.
