Albert Robert Joseph Landry

August 26, 1938-March 17, 2012

It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of a dear husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Albert Robert Landry, age 73, of Point de Bute, N.B., passed away on March 17, 2012 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center with his loving family at his side, following a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on August 26, 1938 in Shediac, N.B., he was the son of the late Florida (Richard ) and William Landry. He moved to Point de Bute in 1942 where he spent the remainder of his life.

Albert was employed with Parks Canada, working at Fort Beausejour for 46 years. He enjoyed spending time on his hobbie farm and you could often see him in the fields with his horses and other animals. Albert was a very kind, loving and hardworking man and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Albert will be greatly missed by his wife of 14 glorious years, Marilyn (Cresine) Landry; his children, Hallie Landry (Rob) and Chris (Dawn) Landry; his brother, Euclide Landry; his sisters, Leonie Etter, Elizabeth (Aubrey) Jones, Beatrice (Bill) Bernard and Dora (Roger) Lomax; his step-children, Robert (Lisa) Stright, David (Katelyn) Stright, Michael Stright, Steven (Geraldine) Gillingwater, Rob Gillingwater and Trevor Gillingwater. He will also never be forgotten by his 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was pre-deceased by his brother Edmond and by his three sisters, Theresa, Margaret and Bella.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Albert’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial will take place in the Point de Bute Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Albert may be made to the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center’s Palliative Care Unit or to the charity of one’s choice.

Marilyn would like to thank the nurses at the palliative care unit at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center and Dr. Dean Harrison for the care and support that they offered Albert and his family during this difficult time.
